Cooking Demos and Produce Usage

I am exploring the idea of doing a quarterly cooking/produce usage demo. This is in the VERY beginning stages and I need to Know if you would be interested and if so how much would you think would be a fair price for the class ($15, $25, $40).

I do not even have a location yet so if you are aware of a place that may be available in the following areas PLEASE let me know; STL, KC, Joplin and possibly Springfield/Branson Area.

I would Definately do the STL once a quater but the other areas would be probably a one time deal unless someone would be interested in doing them in their area.

I NEED LOTS of Feedback on theis so sending me a simple yes or no and the area where you are would be GREAT!!

Don't Forget also Week #2 Challenge is still going. Get your recipes in and recieve a FREE PDF Cookbook if we reach 50 recipes!!

Thanks For Everything You ALL Are Amazing,
Sara

Happy Holiday

I hope everyone had a Wonderful Easter weekend. I had a Great time visiting my family.

I had a few bumps in the road but, did not get discouraged because of a few little bumps.

I chose to live my food life by the 90/10 rule which means if I follow the correct healthy eating habits 90% of the time then I cannot feel guilty about the 10% of the time I make no so good choices or do not have good choices available to me.

I did get a 50 minute Wii Fit and Wii Active workout in on Saturday so that was very good.

I have decided to continue the Week #1 Challenge of recipe submission. Here is the Challenge to you my Readers and ALL the member of the group no matter how active you are:
Challenge for Week 1 (now week #2.... Post your favorite healthy dinner or lunch recipe in the recipe board under the discussion tab!! If I receive 50 recipes by Sunday April 11 at midnight I will create a FREE TO YOU PDF Cook Book of all the recipes for ALL members to enjoy!! What can be better than a FREE cookbook to get you started on you path to success!!

Here are a few Motivational Quotes I have found for you to ponder this week! I Hope you enjoy:

"Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time." ~ Mark Twain

"If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end." ~ Julius Erving

"The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!" ~ Marvin Phillips

"Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip." ~ Arnold H. Glasgow

WELCOME

Welcome-Welcome!!

My Name is Sara Walton and I am a 36 year old mother of 2 amazing children Troy age 3 and McKenna age 1 and wife to a wonderful man, Eric. I have battled weight loss for the better part of 13 years after going through some SEVERE Chronic Depression. I am a self proclaimed emotional eater and junk food/fast food junkie. I have suffered from Depression and Attention Deficit Disorder all of my life and still struggle with it today.

I have found that having positive reinforcement and support from those who love and care about me makes all the difference in my personal emotional well being. Inspired by my friends and the new show on ABC Jamie Olivers Food Revolution I have vowed to lose 110 pounds by March 2011. I have tried almost every diet out there and have come to believe that for myself the simplicity of a good diet and regular exercise along with positive reinforcement from those around me is the key to my success. I will be your Rock if you let me lean on you a little bit in my times of need. Life is not perfect so my faith and the love of my friends and family is what I count on everyday to get me through. I have LOTS and LOTS of love and motivation to give and will give it out to all of you ten fold!!

I am restructuring what my family eats by growing much of my own produce for the first time and that which I cannot grow I will be getting from the local farmer's market. There is nothing better than good quality family time on saturday morning at the market. I am a true believer in leading by example so I hope to renew my faith and relationship in the Lord through this process. I am participating in a online bible study group through a member of the Facebook groups blog. The study begins on May 1st and it is called "The Power of the Praying Wife" I welcome you to participate also. You can find out more information at Hallee The Homemaker's Bolg.

As far as Physical activity goes I have been doing Wii Active, Wii Fit and Walking. My Physical fitness goals for myself are set and I have comitted to 4 charity walks before the end of the year. I will put up the links to those in the side bar soon.

I cannot wait to see what will happen when we get together to lift each other to new heights!!! I can't Wait to Travel this Road with Friends!!

This blog is focused on getting ourselves and our families heathly. Motivation and Encouragment are AMAZING TOOLS. Let's get together and keep each other on track.

I began as a Facebook Group call Our Own Little Food Revolution and we have grown to 111 members in 5 days. PRETTY AMAZING!!

I am going to write this blog based on reader wants and needs with the occasional fun activity or article to boot. Please feel free to shoot me your suggestions, insite or general information. The more we educate the more powerful we can be in our own family and community!!
